About Julie Kennedy

Equine Structural Integration Practitioner & Founder of Kennedy Equine Therapy

Julie Kennedy’s connection with horses began at age ten when she was gifted her first riding lessons—and shortly afterward, her first horse. From that early beginning, she knew her life and career would be centered around horses. In 2013, Julie fulfilled a lifelong dream when she opened her own Hunter/Jumper riding academy, where she dedicated herself to developing confident riders and well-balanced, happy horses.

Over the years, Julie collaborated with many equine professionals to support the horses in her program. Those experiences inspired her to deepen her understanding of equine wellness and take a more hands-on role in helping horses feel their best. She enrolled in the Equine Natural Movement School, where she completed advanced training to become an Equine Structural Integration Practitioner.

During her studies, Julie discovered a passion for the fascial system and the profound influence it has on a horse’s posture, comfort, and movement. Today, she specializes in equine postural restoration, using Structural Integration to release tension, improve alignment, and support healthier biomechanics. A dedicated lifelong learner, Julie continues to expand her skills through ongoing education and advanced coursework.

At the heart of her practice is a genuine love for helping horses feel comfortable, balanced, and understood. Julie brings an intuitive touch, a calm presence, and a deep commitment to each session—taking great pride in supporting every horse’s journey toward improved comfort and movement.

I really believe in the structural integration work Julie has done on my horse. It has made such a difference in my mare’s movement. She has had issues with a lot of tightness in areas of her body. She often trips or falls out as we ride. The sessions that Julie has done have made a big difference. My horse loves the work Julie does and seems very thankful for the relief it brings her.

Julie has working on my Welsh pony, George, for about two months.  When she first started working on him, he was in such terrible pain.  His pain which was mainly in the shoulders and back, was so bad that we needed to give him 2 weeks off from riding.  When Julie first started working on him, he was kicking out and visibly in pain which was uncharacteristic for him.  The work she has done on him has been fantastic.  We slowly put him back to work as she continued to do her sessions on him.  Each week his soreness reduced and he started to enjoy the sessions.  Now he is pain free and enjoys the work with Julie.  He does still have some sensitive spots that she is working through but he is moving forward and is his happy self again.  The most impressive part about Julie’s work with the horses, is the passion she has for making the horses feel better.  She is methodical and does not rush through the session just to get it done.  She truly gets joy in seeing a horse get visibly better from the work she is doing.  She has a true passion and natural ability in this field.
